No tape drive pre-assembled, at least one tape drive must be ordered with the library as an built-in component. Mixed configurations are possible.

Processing of LTO-5, LTO-6, LTO-7 and LTO-8 data cartridges is possible depending on the tape drive. LTO-6 and LTO-7 tape drives can read three LTO generations and write two LTO generations. LTO-8 can read and write two LTO generations.
(Example:
LTO-6 Tape Drive can read LTO-4, LTO-5 and LTO-6 cartridges and write LTO-5 and LTO-6 cartridges; LTO-8 Tape Drive can read and write LTO-7 and LTO-8 cartridges.)

The ETERNUS LT140-42U Base Module and Expansion Module must be installed in a 19'' rack with a minimum depth of 1050mm. 3 height units are required in the rack per expansion module.
